I purchased a CD from CDBaby.com back in January, and am loving their approach to email marketing. It started with a clever tale on how careful they were shipping my compact disc:

Your CD has been gently taken from our CD Baby shelves with sterilized contamination-free gloves and placed onto a satin pillow.

A team of 50 employees inspected your CD and polished it to make sure it was in the best possible condition before mailing.

Drupal has quickly become my favorite CMS for its flexibility and feature-set. Even for a basic site or a general blog I now use Drupal. Creating pages, polls, posts and administering permissions is very easy. Out of the box Drupal does a lot very well, and with just a few adjustments, it's a powerful SEO platform.

Below is a rundown of what I typically do after a standard Drupal installation to get the most SEO value out of it, including modifications to themes, modules I install, and a few other tidbits.

Like most (all?) search marketers I periodically do site searches (the "site:" search query) in various search engines -- I often have SEOBook.com's SEO for Firefox plugin enabled for easy access to additional information. I've found that clients' concerns with these results center around the number of pages indexed, and whether or not both the www and non-www version of the domain name is indexed. More savvy clients may ask about other canonicalization issues.

UPDATE I highly recommend anyone having trouble with Directv contact use this form to contact the office of the president of Customer Care. Very shortly after sending my contact information I received a phone call from John. He was very helpful and resolved the problems we were having with customer service. I would be interested to hear if others in Vermont are seeing video problems and having their audio drop.
